Environmental Films

I am a strong believer in the power of using films to educate or persuade people. When I taught I tried to show as many movie clips as possible because I found that students (and everyone really) perks up and pays attention when there is a very visual component. I had a high school teacher call this the ‘Sesame Street Phenomonon’. In other words, we are educated with dancing singing visually appealing movies from birth and thus grow to expect all education to be equally as fun as ‘Which one of these’Feel the need to be entertained while learning about environmental issues? The Sundance Film Festival will be highlighting several environmental films this year.

What are some of your other favorite environmental films?
